I guess many many people out there keep a journal or diary of some sort. And indeed people keep journals for many reasons, but probably mainly to know or remember what happened at a specific time in their lives good or bad. I have never really kept a journal/diary before. Maybe through fear of someone reading it or just through laziness or even ignorance to the good and help it could give me.
The last few months, and indeed still, I have been on a big roller coaster (if you will), in my life and in some sense on a steep uphill section. Things haven't really gone to the plans that I had visulaised and worked towards. We all can go through this and most of us have, but good or bad I am still looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. This is where I decided that I would start keeping a Positive Journal. To me a Positive Journal is where I remember and jot down the positives of every day. No matter how small the positive may have been or if there where many on any given day, I write them down. It is the being positive and remembering that there is 'silver lining' around every situation, that I have to hold onto and know that I am on the path to the next good thing or many good things to happen to me, as well as the little positives every day. If I was to write in my journal as I type this I would jot down the fact that I have shared this with you, my readers, and the fact that my cat (who is not the most affectionate) was all hugs and smooches today. Small wins to me that make me realise that everyday has something for me big or small. In this little journal of mine, I have also made sure in the back I have a list of goals and things to finish and aim for, big and small. 'Keep your eye on the prize', you could say. Visualisation and keeping thoughts of things you want to achieve and even ticking the goals off one by one as you complete can certainly be the extra positive push to keep moving forward and motivating yourself. I read my list every night after logging my days positives to make sure that my thoughts and the universe know that I am still working to a plan.
Nothing to big or small can help you reflect on what good you encountered for the day. Nothing to big or small can help you get ready for a new day to begin. I don't write much, it is more points of positive, but I know reguardless of what I have encountered on the day there is a positive there somewhere and I am grateful for that. Happy journal-ling, diary keeping or what ever you decide to do to keep yourself on track.
